  • An average young person 9-15 years of age needs on average, for a male 2,200 kcal a day and for a female 1,800 kcal a day.
  • An average fully grown man needs around 2,500kcal a day and an average fully grown women needs around 2,000 kcal a day.
  • Calories are a measure of the amount of energy in food. Knowing how many calories are in our food can help us to balance the energy we put into our bodies and what energy we utilise. That is the key to a healthy weight.
