I have been attending Lynne Scott’s Body Tonic personal training sessions for 3 months and I am writing this to share my story and to highlight the wonderful work that Lynne is doing. had been attending a gym in Adelaide for 8 years but after shifting to Auckland my motivation was lacking and I didn’t know where to begin to find a gym. I had become very unfit while struggling with various health issues and then “along came Lynne”!
After much discussion regarding injuries and problem areas I began a concentrated program of personal training 3 times a week. I have found the sessions extremely valuable, challenging, tailored to my individual needs while producing excellent results. It never failed to amaze me how Lynne was able to remember my various ‘sore bits’ and adapt the exercises to suit.
I was easily motivated because of her very positive attitude and high energy levels. The classes were a mix of strengthening, stretching and cardio involving all parts of the body but focusing on my particular areas of need. I had a pelvic floor issue and was facing medical intervention but with regular exercise this has improved greatly.
The sessions have been much more than a physical workout. I have learnt so much from Lynne regarding my body, nutrition, exercise, posture and health in general. She is a fountain of knowledge and I know she practices what she preaches!
The precise way she teaches the exercises and her insistence that these exercises are done correctly ensures that there is no risk of injury. In fact it has made me realize that for many years I have been performing many exercises incorrectly and that this has probably exacerbated my issues.
Lynne is very intuitive and is able to ascertain tiredness or motivation levels and was able to assist me in working through these. Her kind, caring nature and ability to actively listen meant that many other issues were solved during or after the sessions.
For many years I have struggled with a sore back between my shoulder blades and I have sought all sorts of help with this but with limited results. Lynne observed that my posture was asymmetrical and that I had one trapezius shoulder muscle very much more developed than the other. On her advice I am seeing an Osteopath and at long last I am beginning to get some relief. I will be eternally grateful for Lynne’s diagnosis and suggestion of who to see regarding this problem.
I am a teacher and I have found Lynne to be an excellent teacher. I believe there are few people in our Community who have the knowledge and understanding of strengthening and stretching and the ability to impart this in a safe and powerful way. I have also been privileged to find out about her Youth program and this is an area that I feel extremely passionate about having worked with obese aboriginal girls at our school in Australia.
Her program is interesting, thorough and tailored to individual needs. Lynne has had amazing results with several young girls that she has worked with and I feel this is something that could be very successfully implemented in the wider community.
I feel so fortunate to have met Lynne and to have benefited from her skill and expertise. I look forward to joining the bi weekly Body Tonic class now that I have learnt to do the exercises properly, as I want to maintain the strength, flexibility and clarity of mind that I have worked hard to gain.
Congratulations and thank you Lynne. You have given me a new lease on life!
