Where to start … let’s go back 18 months. While on holiday in Australia I saw Lynne Scott’s advert on Facebook and started to inquire while over the ditch.
I was looking for a workout that could be low impact, body friendly, gentle yet effective at the same time. You see I have a pelvic floor problem and I have had varicose vein surgery in the past.
With these weak areas it is always hard to join normal gyms without doing further damage to my body, which is what I had been experiencing for many years previously. So I was really looking for assistance in my condition without the body jolting exercises in a normal gym environment. Before leaving Australia, I was determined to improve my lifestyle and I had booked my first month of sessions, I was in dire need of help.
This was when I joined the Personal Training classes with Lynne Scott. I was assessed by Lynne and soon discovered that I had many areas of weakness that needed attention. Pelvic floor and veins were not the only issues, my core wasn’t aligned and I had no balance in my feet at all.
My back was beginning to curve, my ankles were swollen, I started to shuffle when walking. Climbing stairs was a mission and my general health was pretty bad which I had now come to observe. I felt like a young person trapped in an old body. How scary was that realization!
After much determination, persistence, hard work, commitment on Lynne’s part and mine too, today I finally feel that I am on the right road to a healthy lifestyle and have more flexibility now than in my entire life. I can confidently state that my core is ten times stronger now, I can balance on one foot for the full instruction period, most of the exercises are completed, they may not be 100% yet but I certainly have managed to get through them without giving in. Plus I have far more high-fives and woohoo’s from Lynne now too! This just makes one feel you are gaining strength each session. At first I doubted myself that I would be in a ‘fit’ mind set, but after 18 months I certainly can say – yes I am on the right path.
I still have a long way to go, but getting the strength up first was the hardest part for me. Now that has been achieved my goal for 2016 will be to reduce my weight and dress size. You see most try and reduce the size first and then think the strength will come later. It won’t work that way, you need to have the strength to get the body prepared for the size shrinkage and you won’t feel or look haggard afterwards.
I can comfortably state that my muscles are forming now and I have very little cellulite on my body, which Lynne pointed out to me. Hard work was paid off in this area.
I have attended a few talks hosted by Lynne over this past year. She has a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to advise when asked. Lynne has a caring nature and this is not always recognized in her line of work. I personally would not have been at this point would it not have been for her dedication in putting me onto this path.
A true master in her trained line of work, and a gentle soul in time of need. I recommend Lynne Scott for any workout training sessions, workshops, special makeup occasions, teenage workshops, personal dress up styling, and many more. You won’t be disappointed, I certainly have not been.
Thank you so much Lynne.
